We Want The Benefits Of God More Than God Himself

Sometimes we try way too hard and try to force God to move in us and through us. I think many times we want the benefits of God more than God Himself. We’re desperate to experience the benefits and see results that come from God moving, and we end up manufacturing the move of God.  We end up doing what is described in Isaiah 29:13. We say all the right things, teach all the rights things, sing all the right songs. We do all the things that we’re taught to do to grow our churches. We push, push, and push and assume that since we did X,Y, & Z that God is somehow obligated to move among us. And just in case He doesn’t, we make it look like He is.

Instead of craving the benefits that come from the movement of God, we need to crave God Himself. We need to focus our attention and our hearts on Him. The movement of God cannot be forced, manufactured, or manipulated. It happens at God’s choosing. He decides when He will unleash His blessings. He decides when He will move…not us.

Where Is Your Security?

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalm 46:1-3

Presidential Debate…May I suggest A Working Lunch!

I understand that our country is on the verge of financial collapse and that something needs to be done about it immediately. However I also understand that in less than six weeks, Americans will cast their vote for the next leader of the Free World.

According to a recent poll, 18 percent of voters are still undecided about who gets their vote. That means that there are potentially 40,000,000 people that are still on the fence about who they are voting for. I think that’s pretty significant…Ummm…do you guys think that you could maybe have a working lunch?

Postponing the debate will only lead to more uncertainty and greater confusion

In the words of Kelly Catlin Walker…“Never let the urgent crowd out the important.”
